About Us

BrightStar Care® Owners Association

Message from the President

Dear Fellow BrightStar Care Franchise Owner:

The BrightStar Care Owners Association (BOA) is the only recognized independent franchisee-led organization in the system. Our goal is to represent the owners and work to advance and protect their interests. Last year we achieved formal recognition by the franchisor, and we now participate in ELT discussions as a true partner and from a position of real strength—and with that comes both opportunity and responsibility.

We have built the structure, membership, and operational discipline necessary to move beyond simply representing franchisees to actively shaping the systems, processes, and strategic direction that define our businesses. We are no longer in a formative phase. We are in an execution phase.

The 2025 transition of BrightStar Care to ownership by Peak Rock Capital has, by most measures, been successful. The system remains strong, and the brand continues to carry significant value in the marketplace. At the same time, this transition has clarified where meaningful work remains—and where franchisee-franchisor misalignment still continues.

There are several areas where progress has not yet met the needs of operators in the field:

  • Marketing & GMF: A more rigorous, data-driven approach to marketing spend allocation and GMF utilization is required. Franchisees need transparency, accountability, and demonstrable ROI tied to national and local initiatives.
  • National Accounts: Contract structures, pricing, and expectations must be aligned with operational realities. In parallel, revenue cycle management—authorization, billing, and collections—requires significant improvement to ensure that delivered care converts efficiently into cash.
  • Systems & Data Platforms: Our current technology environment does not yet provide the level of integration, reporting, and scalability required to operate at a higher standard. We need accelerated investment in platform modernization and expanded capabilities that support both clinical and business performance.

The BOA is actively engaging in these areas with a clear objective: to drive practical, measurable improvements that elevate the performance of every franchise location. Our approach is grounded in data, operator experience, and a unified voice that reflects the collective scale of the system.

The BOA’s effectiveness is directly tied to the strength and engagement of its membership. With scale and active participation comes leverage. With alignment comes results.

We are well positioned to use both.

Thank you for your continued commitment to the organization and to the system as a whole.

Sincerely,
